About Me
My Story – Alive and Well Breath Therapy
My name is Chad Viliborghi. For more than 20 years, I lived my life on the front lines of crisis.
I served as both a flight medic and a police officer, responding to emergencies, trauma, violence, and life-threatening situations. My job was to show up when people were experiencing some of the worst moments of their lives. I was trained to stay calm under pressure, push through stress, and keep going no matter what. But over time, the things I witnessed and experienced began to take a toll.
Like many people in high-stress professions—and many people in general—I carried trauma, stress, and emotional pain quietly. I did what so many of us do. I buried it, pushed forward, and kept functioning.
Life also brought a level of pain that no parent ever wants to face. Several years ago, I experienced the heartbreaking loss of one of my children. That loss changed me in ways that are difficult to fully put into words. Grief like that touches every part of your life, and learning how to carry it is its own journey.
Between the trauma of my career and the personal losses I experienced, the weight eventually became too much. I hit rock bottom. That moment forced me to make one of the most important decisions of my life: I entered an inpatient treatment program to begin confronting the trauma I had been carrying for years. It was during that time that I was introduced to something that would completely change my life:
Breathwork.
While my background as a flight medic and police officer gives me a deep understanding of the challenges faced by first responders, my work is not limited to that community. Trauma, addiction, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm affect people from all walks of life.
Through Alive and Well Breath Therapy, I work with anyone struggling with trauma, PTSD, addiction, anxiety, chronic stress, or emotional pain. My goal is to provide people with tools that help them regulate their nervous system, process difficult experiences, and reconnect with themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
Breathwork is powerful because it meets people exactly where they are. It doesn’t require complicated equipment or years of training. It’s something we all carry with us every moment of every day.
For me, breath also carries a deeper meaning. In the book of Genesis, when God created Adam, the first thing He did was breathe life into him. Breath was the beginning of life itself. In many ways, breath is life. And when we learn to work with our breath intentionally, it can bring us back to ourselves, back to calm, and back to healing.
My mission is simple:
To help people who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck rediscover that healing is possible.
Because sometimes the first step toward getting your life back isn’t complicated.
Sometimes it simply starts with a breath.
And that breath can bring you back to being truly Alive and Well.
At first, it sounded almost too simple to be powerful. Just breathing. Something we all do automatically every single day.
But as I began practicing guided breathwork, I started to experience real shifts. My nervous system began to calm. My mind felt clearer. Emotions and trauma I had buried for years began to surface and release in a way that felt safe and manageable.
For the first time in a long time, I felt like I could truly breathe again—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.
Breathwork became one of the most powerful tools in my healing journey. It helped me regulate stress, reconnect with my body, and begin rebuilding a life that once felt completely broken.
In many ways, breathwork helped save my life. It changed the direction of my life. I knew I wanted to help others discover this same path to healing.
That calling led me to create Alive and Well Breath Therapy.
